How Arkhival works
How to get started on Arkhival
What is Arkhival?
Arkhival is a shared home for memories and stories, where photos, videos and written moments can live together in one place. Instead of memories being scattered across phones, platforms and people, Arkhival brings them together so they can be organised, preserved and shared over time.
How is Arkhival different from Google Photos or iCloud?
Google Photos and iCloud are designed primarily for personal storage. Arkhival is designed for shared collections and collaboration.
It allows multiple people to contribute photos, videos and stories into the same collection, building a shared archive rather than a personal library.
Who is Arkhival for?
Anyone who wants a better way to keep important memories together.
Many people use Arkhival to collect memories around life chapters such as:
- New babies
- Family milestones
- School years
- Travel
- Family holidays
- Preserving the stories of older generations
But collections can be created for anything meaningful to you.
Do all contributors need to pay?
No.
Only the person who owns the archive needs a subscription. Contributors can upload and participate without paying.
What does the free plan include?
The free Collection plan allows you to create shared collections, invite contributors and start building your archive with up to 2GB of storage.
It’s designed to let you experience how Arkhival works before deciding if you want to expand your archive.
What does the paid plan include?
The Archive plan expands your storage to 200GB, giving you room to grow your archive with more photos, videos and stories over time.
Who can see my collections?
Only the people you invite.
Arkhival collections are private and accessible only to contributors who have been given access.
Can people upload photos without the app?
Yes.
You can share a link to a collection so contributors can easily upload photos and videos from their phone.
What happens to my memories if I stop using Arkhival?
Your memories remain yours. Arkhival is designed so collections can be exported and downloaded if you ever want to move or back up your archive elsewhere.
Is my data safe?
Arkhival is designed with privacy and long-term ownership in mind. Your memories belong to you and the people you share them with, not to advertisers or social platforms.
Why was Arkhival created?
Most people’s memories are scattered across devices, messaging apps and social platforms. Over time that makes them harder to find, harder to share, and harder to preserve.
Arkhival was created to bring those memories together so they can live in one place and grow over time.
How do I get started?
Download the Arkhival app, create your first collection and invite the people who were part of those memories.
From there, your archive can grow naturally as new photos, videos and stories are added.
